Taize Style Service

Simple Song. Sacred Prayer. Deep Peace. Come join us for a contemplative candlelight service of peace and renewal for the soul. Featuring chanting interspersed with periods of prayer and silence. The Presenter Formation Team of ContemplativeOutreach.org provides this retreat to offer participants the opportunity to become commissioned Presenters of the Centering Prayer Introductory Workshop.

Working with a notebook of materials, each participant will have ample opportunity to learn the content of the Introductory Workshop and to practice presenting the content to others, with supportive feedback and guidance.

Contemplative Outreach is committed to supporting facilitator formation opportunities, so is providing a grant for participants in this formation retreat. Participants’ fee for this event is reduced from $400 to $100.

All participants must complete an application prior to registration for this event. To receive an application please contact Rob Carr at robcarr924@gmail.com. Those approved applications will receive a link to the Sophia Retreat Center for registration.

Registration is $100.00, which includes lodging, all meals and materials.

When It Isn’t Easy

Being the Image of God … When It Isn’t Easy, with Chris Hagen. Today we are living in a time of palpable social tension and cultural discord. We hear Jesus’s call to “love your enemy,” but frequently find it difficult to answer that call. In this workshop, we will expand our understanding of why “love your enemy” was central to the Gospel and how we can respond to this important teaching today. We will also have time for small group discussion and feedback. On Zoom, Saturday, Sept. 26, 9:00 am to Noon Pacific Time. RSVP to: cosdc.info@gmail.com. To sign up for our October 22-25 silent retreat: Please send us an email at cosdc.info@gmail.com to indicate your intention to register. We will then send you a registration form. We need to receive these registrations with a $50.00 deposit by October 1, 2026. Prerequisite: at least six months’ experience with a daily Centering Prayer practice. Space is limited to 23 participants. We will start a waiting list once registrations fill up.
